pigmentaciones seg\u00fan la raza de las gallinas, presentando en su parte alta dos orificios sim\u00e9tricos y longitudinales, que son las aberturas nasales.<\/p><p data-iceapc=\"1\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Frente: <\/span>Sigue al pico y corresponde a una zona aplanada y parcialmente cubierta de plumas. Su parte superior y central es la base de una cresta m\u00e1s o menos desarrollada.<\/p><p data-iceapw=\"34\" data-iceapc=\"1\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Cresta: <\/span>Es una masa carnosa, generalmente de color rojo y situada encima de la zona frontal y parietal de la cabeza, que, referente a la gallina castellana, ya hemos definido en la foto.<\/p><p data-iceapw=\"15\">Hay diversas subvariedades de crestas que a veces son caracter\u00edsticas de algunas razas o estirpes.<\/p><p data-iceapw=\"16\">La cresta cumple una funci\u00f3n social y tiene notables connotaciones con la jerarqu\u00eda dentro del grupo.<\/p><p data-iceapw=\"16\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Espol\u00f3n de la cresta: <\/span>L\u00f3bulo posterior de la cresta simple despu\u00e9s de la \u00faltima punta o diente, que se extiende hacia atr\u00e1s sin adherencia a la cabeza.<\/p><p data-iceapw=\"16\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Occipucio: <\/span>Corresponde a la parte posterior de la cabeza, estando limitada anteriormente por el extremo posterior de la cresta.<\/p><p data-iceapw=\"16\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">O\u00eddo: <\/span>El \u00f3rgano del o\u00eddo es tambi\u00e9n menos complicado en las aves que en los mam\u00edferos; carecen absolutamente de pabell\u00f3n, no consta de oreja, consistiendo su o\u00eddo externo en una simple abertura, no saliente, y cubierta de plumas particulares.\u00a0 <span style=\"text-align: justify; background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);\">Est\u00e1 formado por un orificio circular, situado encima de la orejilla. En primer lugar, el globo del ojo es m\u00e1s voluminoso a proporci\u00f3n del tama\u00f1o de la cabeza; la retina, o membrana sensible, es m\u00e1s densa, y del fondo del ojo parte otra membrana negra y rugosa que se adelanta hacia el cristalino, a la cual llaman <span style=\"color: #000000;\">pecten o peine<\/span>.<\/p><p data-iceapw=\"28\">Aunque la naturaleza de esta membrana no est\u00e1 a\u00fan bien determinada, algunos naturalistas la miran como una prolongaci\u00f3n nerviosa destinada a dar mayor extensi\u00f3n a la facultad visual.<\/p><p data-iceapw=\"45\">El iris goza de muy extensas contracciones, lo que comunica una gran movilidad a la abertura de la pupila, que es siempre circular. La c\u00f3rnea transparente es muy convexa, y el cristalino complanado, especialmente en las aves de rapi\u00f1a, que se elevan a considerables alturas.<\/p><p>Adem\u00e1s, tienen la facultad de poner m\u00e1s o menos convexos los medios transparentes destinados a refractar los rayos que se dirigen a la retina; esta tiene tambi\u00e9n unas l\u00e1minas \u00f3seas dispuestas circularmente y alojadas en el espesor de la c\u00f3rnea opaca, junto a su uni\u00f3n con la transparente, y sobre este c\u00edrculo tiran cuando quiere el ave los m\u00fasculos destinados a mover el <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tri-tro.com\/anatomia-de-la-gallina\/el-ojo-de-la-gallina\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>globo del ojo<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p><p data-iceapw=\"56\">Esta tirantez distiende y pone m\u00e1s convexa la c\u00f3rnea transparente, y tambi\u00e9n el cristalino y el cuerpo v\u00edtreo, de lo cual resulta una fuerza de refracci\u00f3n muy crucial.<\/p><p data-iceapw=\"82\">Resulta tambi\u00e9n que el ave, que es necesariamente pr\u00e9sbita, supuesto que desde gran altura divisa objetos peque\u00f1os, se vuelve a su voluntad miope cuando, al abalanzarse a su presa, tiene necesidad de distinguirla bien a medida que a ella se aproxima.<\/p><p data-iceapw=\"96\">Finalmente, como complemento de esta maravillosa organizaci\u00f3n, la naturaleza ha provisto a las aves, adem\u00e1s de los dos p\u00e1rpados, de otro, situado en el \u00e1ngulo interno del ojo, que puede cubrir la c\u00f3rnea a modo de una cortina y preservar la vista de una luz bastante intensa.<\/p><p data-iceapw=\"50\">Ocupa casi por completo la \u00f3rbita.
