Las estreptococias aviares son variadas, pudiendo intervenir diversos agentes causales, si bien predominan las especies Streptococcus zooepidemicus o diversos enterococos como el <em>Streptococcus\u00a0faecalis<\/em>.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"cc-m-5768695511\" class=\"j-module n j-text \"><p>La sintomatolog\u00eda depende del tipo de evoluci\u00f3n. En la forma general se aprecia decaimiento general que coincide con la aparici\u00f3n tanto en el h\u00edgado como en el bazo de unos puntos rojizos como hemorragias superficiales.<\/p><p>En estos casos, las aves muestran adem\u00e1s anorexia, palidez de la cresta y de las barbillas y aparici\u00f3n de heces amarillentas.<\/p><p>Cuando el proceso es subagudo, puede causar pericarditis, peritonitis, salpingitis, artritis y presencia progresiva de masas fibrinosas sobre los \u00f3rganos digestivos y el peritoneo.<\/p><p>En las estreptococias cr\u00f3nicas pueden detectarse focos necr\u00f3ticos en algunos tejidos como coraz\u00f3n, h\u00edgado y bazo, causados por las toxinas generadas por los Streptococcus.<\/p><p>La infecci\u00f3n por estreptococos en las aves no es muy frecuente, aunque s\u00ed est\u00e1 ampliamente extendida en el mundo. Se presenta en forma aguda o cr\u00f3nica con p\u00e9rdidas que pueden alcanzar hasta un 50 %.<\/p><h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Etiolog\u00eda:<\/span><\/h3><p>El g\u00e9nero Estreptococo est\u00e1 compuesto por bacterias Gram-positivas, no espor\u00f3genas, inm\u00f3viles, se agrupan en pares o cadenas, facultativamente anaerobias, catalasa negativa y atacan los az\u00facares.<\/p><p>Entre los m\u00e1s comunes tenemos el Streptococcus zooepidemicus, en ocasiones llamado Streptococcus gallinarum, pertenece al grupo antig\u00e9nico C,\u00a0<em>Streptococcus faecalis, Streptococcus faceium y el Streptococcus durans<\/em>\u00a0y pertenecen al grupo D (enterococos).<\/p><p>Estos enterococos pueden ser diferenciados del Streptococcus zooepidemicus por su habilidad de crecer a un pH 9.6 en presencia de 6.5 % de ClNa y adem\u00e1s, por la fermentaci\u00f3n de la arabinosa y sorbitol. El <i>Streptococcus faceium<\/i>\u00a0fermenta la arabinosa, el\u00a0<em>Streptococcus faecalis<\/em>\u00a0fermenta el sorbitol y el\u00a0<em>Streptococcus durans<\/em>\u00a0no fermenta a ninguno de los dos.<\/p><h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Especies susceptibles:<\/span><\/h3><p>El Streptococcus zooepidemicus afecta en forma primaria a pollos adultos, En contraste, el\u00a0<em>Streptococcus faecalis<\/em>\u00a0afecta a aves de cualquier edad y puede ser problema serio en pollitos.<\/p><h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">V\u00edas de transmisi\u00f3n:<\/span><\/h3><p>Las rutas de infecci\u00f3n del\u00a0<em>Streptococcus zooepidemicus<\/em>\u00a0son desconocidas, aunque se presentan portadores asintom\u00e1ticos durante largo tiempo, incluso meses.<\/p><p>El Streptococcus faecalis es un habitante com\u00fan del tracto digestivo de aves y mam\u00edferos. Muchos de los aislamientos de aves sanas son patol\u00f3gicos cuando son administrados intravenosamente.<\/p><p>El\u00a0<em>Streptococcus\u00a0<\/em><i>faecalis<\/i>\u00a0y otros enterococos se a\u00edslan a partir del aire de los gallineros de las aves.<\/p><p>La transmisi\u00f3n a trav\u00e9s del aerosol en el caso del\u00a0<em>Streptococcus zooepidemicus<\/em>\u00a0y el\u00a0<em>Streptococcus faecalis<\/em>\u00a0ha sido demostrado produciendo una aguda septicemia en los pollos.<\/p><p>Tambi\u00e9n se ha reportado la transmisi\u00f3n por el huevo del\u00a0<em>Streptococcus faecalis<\/em>\u00a0a partir de gallinas infectadas.<\/p><h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Manifestaciones cl\u00ednicas:<\/span><\/h3><p>Entre los s\u00edntomas m\u00e1s significativos producidos por la infecci\u00f3n debido al\u00a0<em>Streptococcus zooepidemicus<\/em> tenemos lasitud, cresta y barbillas p\u00e1lidas, emaciaci\u00f3n, anorexia y la regi\u00f3n de la cabeza, puede aparecer hemorr\u00e1gica, la temperatura puede ser normal o estar por encima de 42.8 \u00b0C.<\/p><p>Cuando la infecci\u00f3n es producida por el Streptococcus faecalis, la temperatura puede ser subnormal o de 41.7 &#8211; 42.2 \u00b0C. La bacteriemia tiende a persistir con gran variaci\u00f3n en el n\u00famero de bacterias.<\/p><p>Los heter\u00f3filos pueden aumentar hasta 120 000 por mil\u00edmetro c\u00fabico. Por lo general, las aves visiblemente enfermas mueren.<\/p><h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Lesiones anatomopatol\u00f3gicas:<\/span><\/h3><p>Las lesiones producidas en la infecci\u00f3n aguda por Streptococcus zooepidemicus son esplenomegalia, hepatitis no muy marcada con o sin puntos hemorr\u00e1gicos.<\/p><p>Se aprecia peritonitis y pericarditis que contiene l\u00edquido hemorr\u00e1gico. Este tambi\u00e9n puede presentarse debajo de la piel del estern\u00f3n. Artritis, salpingitis, endocarditis, pericarditis y perihepatitis son menos frecuentes.<\/p><p>Muchos aislamientos del. <em>Streptococcus faecalis<\/em>\u00a0se han realizado a partir de endocarditis.<\/p><p>Microsc\u00f3picamente, aparecen zonas de necrosis en el h\u00edgado, bazo y miocardio, frecuentemente hay una peque\u00f1a reacci\u00f3n celular, pero en algunas regiones hay una masiva infiltraci\u00f3n de heter\u00f3filos y macr\u00f3fagos.<\/p><h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">El diagn\u00f3stico:<\/span><\/h3><p>Presuntivo de campo no puede plantearse dada la similitud de los s\u00edntomas con otras patolog\u00edas, por lo cual el diagn\u00f3stico debe ir encaminado al aislamiento de los estreptococos que pueden ser f\u00e1cilmente aislados a partir de sangre, h\u00edgado, bazo y otros \u00f3rganos afectados.<\/p><p>Tinciones de Gram de secciones microsc\u00f3picas en tejidos infectados y en extensiones de sangre generalmente revelan los estreptococos. Para el diagn\u00f3stico de rutina de estos agentes pueden ser identificados como estreptococos basados en las colonias, morfolog\u00eda microsc\u00f3pica, reacci\u00f3n de Gram y la prueba de la catalasa.<\/p><h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Medidas contra epizo\u00f3ticas:<\/span><\/h3><p>Las medidas zoo higi\u00e9nicas y de manejo correcto, contribuyen a la prevenci\u00f3n de la enfermedad.<\/p><p>Como terap\u00e9utica se han empleado antibi\u00f3ticos, como son la penicilina, oleandomicina, tetraciclina y los nitrofuranos entre los quimioter\u00e1picos, sobre todo en casos agudos.<\/p><p>Para tener un mejor \u00e9xito, los aislamientos deben completarse con sensibilidad de \u00e9stos a los productos terap\u00e9uticos.<\/p><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ff76320 e-con-full e-flex e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"ff76320\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f24973c e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"f24973c\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-23a3365 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"23a3365\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>\u00e7Bibliograf\u00eda:<\/p><p>M.V.
