respiratorias significativas y sensaci\u00f3n de falta de aire. Se trata de una enfermedad altamente contagiosa que afecta a las aves y se caracteriza por s\u00edntomas respiratorios pronunciados, originados por un coronavirus, un tipo de virus de ARN. La eliminaci\u00f3n del virus de un ave infectada ocurre a trav\u00e9s de sus excrementos y secreciones nasales.<\/p><p>La enfermedad se propaga r\u00e1pidamente dentro de un mismo gallinero y entre diferentes explotaciones av\u00edcolas, manifest\u00e1ndose como una verdadera ola epizo\u00f3tica que avanza con gran velocidad.<\/p><p>El tiempo de incubaci\u00f3n es breve, y la enfermedad puede presentarse en un lapso de 24 a 48 horas. La transmisi\u00f3n vertical no juega un papel relevante en la propagaci\u00f3n de esta patolog\u00eda.<\/p><p>La tasa de mortalidad asociada a la bronquitis infecciosa es variable y est\u00e1 directamente relacionada con la edad del ave infectada; en los pollitos, la mortalidad puede alcanzar hasta un m\u00e1ximo del 25 %, mientras que en aves mayores de seis u ocho semanas, es pr\u00e1cticamente inexistente.<\/p><p>En los animales j\u00f3venes, la forma respiratoria se manifiesta con un aumento de la disnea, dificultando la entrada de aire en los pulmones, lo que obliga al ave a respirar con el pico abierto y a extender el cuello.<\/p><p>Los ojos de las aves pueden mostrar humedad y, en ocasiones, se observa hinchaz\u00f3n en las \u00e1reas perioculares. Con el tiempo, se puede presentar un flujo nasal claro, acompa\u00f1ado de ruidos respiratorios.<\/p><p>Con rapidez, todos los pollitos se ven afectados, mostrando falta de apetito, debilidad y buscando fuentes de calor para mantener una temperatura corporal adecuada.<\/p><p>Las lesiones m\u00e1s relevantes incluyen exudados, seromucosa en la tr\u00e1quea, congesti\u00f3n pulmonar y repleci\u00f3n de los bronquios. A veces, se pueden observar conjuntivitis, rinitis y sinusitis catarral.<\/p><p>Al tratarse de una enfermedad de origen viral, no existe ning\u00fan tratamiento quimioterap\u00e9utico que pueda curarla.<\/p><p>Por ende, el \u00fanico enfoque efectivo para combatirla radica en la prevenci\u00f3n mediante la vacunaci\u00f3n.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: center;\">Las modalidades de administraci\u00f3n de las vacunas contra la bronquitis, que utilizan virus vivos, pueden ser:<\/p><ul><li>Ocular.<\/li><li>A trav\u00e9s del agua de bebida.<\/li><li>Mediante spray.<\/li><\/ul><p>Este \u00faltimo m\u00e9todo es especialmente com\u00fan para la inmunizaci\u00f3n de pollitos de un d\u00eda.<\/p><p>Las vacunas inactivadas se administran exclusivamente por v\u00eda parenteral, mediante inyecci\u00f3n intramuscular en el muslo o en la zona del pecho.<\/p><p>En el mercado tambi\u00e9n est\u00e1n disponibles vacunas inactivadas combinadas, que incluyen dos o m\u00e1s virus causantes de enfermedades en las aves.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: center;\">Com\u00fanmente, las vacunas combinadas permiten la inmunizaci\u00f3n contra:<\/p><ul><li>BI \u2013 EN \u2013 Gumboro<\/li><li>BI \u2013 EN \u2013 S\u00edndrome de la disminuci\u00f3n de la puesta (EDS \u2013 76)<\/li><\/ul><p>El \u00e9xito de estas vacunas combinadas es notable, ya que a su eficacia evidente se suman consideraciones econ\u00f3micas.<\/p><p>Un polluelo reci\u00e9n nacido puede exhibir signos de jadeo y dificultad para respirar.
