tambi\u00e9n<\/span> \u201ctemblor epid\u00e9mico\u201d, y es una enfermedad v\u00edrica que se presenta en pollitos y est\u00e1 caracterizada por ataxia y temblores de cabeza y cuello. El cuadro sintom\u00e1tico var\u00eda seg\u00fan la edad de los animales infectados.<\/p><p>En gallinas adultas, la encefalomielitis aviar \u00fanicamente ocasiona descenso marcado de la puesta.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"cc-m-5769237711\" class=\"j-module n j-text \"><p>Este descenso viene a durar tres semanas, pasadas las cuales la producci\u00f3n vuelve a ascender lentamente.<\/p><p>Temblor epid\u00e9mico: Encefalomielitis aviar (EA) es una infecci\u00f3n viral com\u00fan que causa temblores en la cabeza y el cuello, y ataxia progresiva (una falta de control muscular o coordinaci\u00f3n de los movimientos voluntarios) en pollitos j\u00f3venes, entre 1 y 3 semanas de edad. En los pollitos aparecen las manifestaciones alrededor de los siete d\u00edas de vida.<\/p><p>El cuadro de los s\u00edntomas var\u00eda seg\u00fan la edad de los animales infectados. En gallinas adultas, la encefalomielitis aviar \u00fanicamente ocasiona descenso marcado de la puesta. Este descenso viene a durar tres semanas, pasadas las cuales la producci\u00f3n vuelve a ascender lentamente.<\/p><p>Los pollitos muestran una marcha insegura, con debilidad de las patas, por lo cual aparecen sentados o montados sobre los tarsos. Al hacerlos mover, muestran una incoordinaci\u00f3n muscular que progresa hacia una par\u00e1lisis fl\u00e1cida de las patas y postraci\u00f3n.<\/p><p>La imposibilidad de movimiento provoca que el pollito no ingiera alimento y posteriormente le sobrevenga la muerte.<\/p><p>La enfermedad es causada por un entero virus, llamado virus de la encefalomielitis aviar (VAM). Con frecuencia, el primer signo de infecci\u00f3n en los pollitos es la depresi\u00f3n, seguida de p\u00e9rdida de coordinaci\u00f3n, ca\u00edda de las alas, temblores musculares r\u00e1pidos de la cabeza y el cuello (menos comunes, en las alas y las patas), sentarse sobre los corvejones y caer de lado.<\/p><p>Los pollos tambi\u00e9n pueden quedar paralizados, y se les observa acostados en el suelo en un estado de debilidad severa. Tenemos que intervenir por parte nuestra, para asegurar que los pollitos permanezcan hidratados y comiendo; los pollitos a menudo morir\u00e1n de hambre o de ser pisoteados hasta la muerte por otros miembros del reba\u00f1o.<\/p><p>Es posible que algunos pollos solo se vean afectados levemente y se recuperen por completo. Los pollos de m\u00e1s edad que est\u00e1n infectados con EA a menudo no muestran signos cl\u00ednicos de estar infectados, salvo una disminuci\u00f3n ocasional de la producci\u00f3n de huevos en las gallinas ponedoras.<\/p><p>Los pollitos que se recuperan del AE pueden tener problemas de coordinaci\u00f3n continuos, quedar ciegos de forma permanente en uno o ambos ojos y tener un mayor riesgo de desarrollar cataratas. Ha habido muchas otras incidencias en las que los polluelos nacidos de pollos que se han recuperado de un EA se quedan ciegos sin raz\u00f3n aparente.<\/p><h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">La transmisi\u00f3n:<\/span><\/h3><p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">El AE se transmite a los lotes a trav\u00e9s de varias formas:<\/span><\/p><ul><li>Introducir un nuevo pollo, a menudo m\u00e1s viejo, al lote o grupo que sea portador subcl\u00ednico infectado del virus o que se haya recuperado de un EA.<\/li><li>La gallina reproductora se infect\u00f3 con el virus y lo transmiti\u00f3 al pollito reci\u00e9n eclosionado desde el huevo, a trav\u00e9s de la transmisi\u00f3n vertical. Si los huevos se incuban, alrededor del 25 % o m\u00e1s mueren justo antes de eclosionar. Los pollitos incubados que est\u00e1n infectados con AE generalmente desarrollan signos de infecci\u00f3n entre un d\u00eda y tres semanas.<\/li><li>Los pollos infectados\u00a0expulsan el virus en sus excrementos, que contaminan el medio ambiente y son ingeridos por otros miembros de la parvada. El virus se elimina en los excrementos de los pollitos infectados durante un m\u00e1ximo de 2 semanas.<\/li><\/ul><h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Per\u00edodo de incubaci\u00f3n:<\/span><\/h3><p>Los pollitos infectados por la transmisi\u00f3n vertical de los huevos comienzan a desarrollar signos cl\u00ednicos entre un d\u00eda y tres semanas despu\u00e9s de eclosionar. Cuando se infectan por contacto directo con aves enfermas, los signos de infecci\u00f3n pueden tardar al menos 11 d\u00edas en comenzar a presentarse.<\/p><h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Signos cl\u00ednicos:<\/span><\/h3><p>Temblores en la cabeza. Descoordinaci\u00f3n progresiva. Depresi\u00f3n. Aburrimiento. Sentado sobre los tarsos o corvejones. Recostado. Tumbado a un lado. Debilidad. Ceguera.
