El virus fue descubierto en 1907 por Jozsef Marek, un veterano h\u00fangaro, y all\u00ed no son pat\u00f3genos.<\/p><ul><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">ligeramente virulento,<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Muy virulento.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">las cepas virulentas.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"cc-m-5769127511\" class=\"j-module n j-text \"><p>Es una afecci\u00f3n de las gallinas de origen v\u00edrico que se caracteriza por la aparici\u00f3n de fen\u00f3menos paral\u00edticos y formaciones tumorales en diversos \u00f3rganos.<\/p><p>Existe una asociaci\u00f3n entre lesiones nerviosas y aparici\u00f3n de tumores viscerales que se localizan generalmente en el ovario.<\/p><p>Durante mucho tiempo se consider\u00f3 a la enfermedad de Marek como una forma neural de la leucosis de las aves.<\/p><h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Se puede clasificar en:<\/span><\/h3><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">La enfermedad de Marek (herpesvirus DNA)\u00a0<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Cl\u00e1sica<\/span>:\u00a0todas<\/li><li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">linfoides:<\/span> Neural, ocular, visceral. En general, aparecen espasmos cl\u00f3nicos y par\u00e1lisis, llegando en ocasiones a que las aves infectadas sean incapaces de desplazarse, llegando a morir por inanici\u00f3n.<\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2014Forma ocular: <\/span>Suele afectar al iris, en cuyo caso la pupila aparece alargada, asim\u00e9trica e incapaz de reaccionar a los impulsos luminosos.<\/p><p>Si la lesi\u00f3n alcanza a los ojos, puede sobrevenir una ceguera que incapacita al animal para alcanzar la comida.<\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Forma visceral: <\/span>Cuando el ave presenta tumores en \u00f3rganos internos, aparece quieta, embobada, con el plumaje erizado, presentando anorexia extrema y, finalmente, la muerte.<\/p><p>La enfermedad de Marek presenta unas lesiones muy caracter\u00edsticas que afectan a diversos nervios y tejidos:<\/p><h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Nervios perif\u00e9ricos:<\/span><\/h3><div><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div><p>La enfermedad presenta cronol\u00f3gicamente un edema, fen\u00f3menos degenerativos y aparici\u00f3n del infiltrado linfocitario acompa\u00f1ado de c\u00e9lulas plasm\u00e1ticas y macr\u00f3fagas.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Dentro de esta lesi\u00f3n fundamental, los nervios se pueden dividir en tres tipos:<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2014Tipo A: <\/span>Aparici\u00f3n de las c\u00e9lulas de Marek, que son c\u00e9lulas grandes bas\u00f3filas, con protoplasma vacuolado y n\u00facleo grande.<\/p><p>Pueden ser c\u00e9lulas bl\u00e1sticas que han sufrido procesos degenerativos.<\/p><p>Infiltrado linfocitario abundante, desmielinizaci\u00f3n y proliferaci\u00f3n de c\u00e9lulas de Schwann.<\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2014Tipo B: <\/span>Infiltraci\u00f3n difusa de c\u00e9lulas plasm\u00e1ticas y linfocitos peque\u00f1os. Edema, a veces desmielinizaci\u00f3n y proliferaci\u00f3n de las c\u00e9lulas de Schwann.<\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2014Tipo C:<\/span> El nervio aparece normal y \u00fanicamente se observa una ligera infiltraci\u00f3n difusa por c\u00e9lulas plasm\u00e1ticas y peque\u00f1os linfocitos.<\/p><p>Estos tres tipos de lesiones son fases evolutivas del mismo proceso, es decir, que una lesi\u00f3n de tipo C pasar\u00eda con el tiempo a ser de tipo A, para alcanzar luego una forma intermedia entre A y B y desembocar despu\u00e9s en una lesi\u00f3n de tipo B.<\/p><p>La velocidad del cambio var\u00eda de un ave a otra y se cree que estar\u00eda condicionada a la susceptibilidad o resistencia individual a la enfermedad.<\/p><h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Lesiones musculares:<\/span><\/h3><div><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div><p>Solo son observables cuando el proceso de la enfermedad de Marek dura bastante tiempo.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Macrosc\u00f3picamente se caracteriza por: <\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\">Atrofia muscular, p\u00e9rdidas de coloraci\u00f3n, n\u00f3dulos blanquecinos, a veces.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Microsc\u00f3picamente, se dividen en dos categor\u00edas:<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2014 Atrofia tropo neur\u00f3gena:<\/span>\u00a0<\/p><p>Hinchaz\u00f3n de n\u00facleos del sarcolema. Prominencia y alargamiento del n\u00facleo.
