Per\u00fa.<\/p><p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Synhimantus (D.) nasuta<\/em><\/span> es una de las especies m\u00e1s habituales en aves galliformes (Goble y Kutz 1945, Sahay 1966) y son par\u00e1sitos de ciclo de vida heteroxeno, es decir, que ellos necesitan de un is\u00f3podo terrestre (viven en las aguas dulces y a veces en los lugares h\u00famedos, como la cochinilla de la humedad), que act\u00faa como hospedador intermediario para completar su ciclo de vida (Moore y Lasswell 1986, Anderson 2000).<\/p><p>Estos gusanos se localizan en la mucosa del proventr\u00edculo y ocasionalmente en el es\u00f3fago de las aves. Generalmente, la infecci\u00f3n por Synhimantus (D.) ocasiona inflamaci\u00f3n y severas lesiones en la l\u00e1mina propia del proventr\u00edculo, con presencia de \u00falceras, lo que conlleva un desajuste alimentario (Soulsby 1988).<\/p><p>La presencia de estos gusanos determina una falta de secreci\u00f3n de los jugos digestivos, ocasionando y provocando severos trastornos en la asimilaci\u00f3n del alimento, siendo especialmente sensibles las aves j\u00f3venes (Soulsby 1988). Las infecciones masivas pueden llevar a cuadros de proventriculitis hemorr\u00e1gica, ocasionando la muerte del hospedador (Led y Brandetti 1972, Quiroz 1984).<\/p><p>Las aves silvestres en su h\u00e1bitat natural, que se encuentran parasitadas con Synhimantus (D.) nasuta, no presentan manifestaci\u00f3n cl\u00ednica de la enfermedad, a diferencia de las aves en cautiverio (Carreno 2008). Esto es debido a que las aves en cautiverio est\u00e1n predispuestas a diversos tipos de estr\u00e9s, lo que da como resultado la disminuci\u00f3n o anulaci\u00f3n de la respuesta inmunol\u00f3gica del ave, favoreciendo cuadros infecciosos (Lozano 1998).<\/p><p>As\u00ed mismo, estas aves silvestres act\u00faan como diseminadoras de estos par\u00e1sitos en los gallineros, galpones, centros de producci\u00f3n av\u00edcola, zoocriaderos y zool\u00f3gicos. Por este motivo se deben poner los medios necesarios para evitar el ingreso de las mismas con mallas de voladero y perimetrales del recinto, para que no infecten el agua y comida de nuestras aves.<\/p><p>El proceso suele cursar de forma cr\u00f3nica y progresiva. Al principio, los animales conservan el apetito, pero adelgazan r\u00e1pidamente, hecho que es notorio en las aves j\u00f3venes, las cuales pueden llegar a un estado de caquexia.<\/p><p>El plumaje se hace mate, fr\u00e1gil y se aprecia palidez intensa en las barbillas y de la cresta.<\/p><p>Cuando la acuariosis es fuerte, aparecen en las heces alimentos no digeridos, timpanismo de buche y ventr\u00edculo y trastornos de la degluci\u00f3n del pienso, donde las aves presentan una mala condici\u00f3n corporal, producto de la nula absorci\u00f3n de nutrientes.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1f2967b id=\"cc-m-12923014427\"><p>En la foto se aprecia un esp\u00e9cimen adulto del nematodo digestivo <em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Synhimantus (Dispharynx) nasuta<\/span><\/em>, el cual se caracteriza por poseer, en su extremo anterior, la presencia de cordones cef\u00e1licos (flechas rojas), los cuales se curvan para redirigirse hacia adelante nuevamente.<\/p><p>Este nematodo se ha encontrado y aislado en una gran variedad de especies de aves. Universidad Austral de Chile.<\/p><p>Synhimantus (D.) nasuta son nematodos de color blanquecino con una cut\u00edcula muy fina con estriaciones transversales. Presenta una c\u00e1psula bucal peque\u00f1a. Los cordones cef\u00e1licos terminan a 0,24 a 0,38 mm de la extremidad anterior. El es\u00f3fago es muscular y glandular, con una longitud de 0,68 mm en machos y 0,74 mm en hembras. El anillo nervioso se encuentra a 0,22 mm de la extremidad anterior.<\/p><h3 align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Machos: <\/span><\/h3><p align=\"LEFT\">Largo total del cuerpo: 5,82 mm, con un ancho m\u00e1ximo de 0,38 mm. Las esp\u00edculas son desiguales; la mayor mide 0,44 mm y la menor mide 0,16 mm de longitud, respectivamente. La apertura cloacal se ubica a 0,26 mm de la extremidad posterior.<\/p><h3 align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Hembras: <\/span><\/h3><p align=\"LEFT\">Largo total del cuerpo: 7,10 mm, con un ancho m\u00e1ximo de 0,60 mm. La vulva se sit\u00faa en el tercio posterior.<\/p><h3 align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Comportamiento:<\/span><\/h3><p align=\"JUSTIFY\">Un ejemplo de la importancia en las cadenas tr\u00f3ficas son aquellos par\u00e1sitos que pueden llegar a manipular el comportamiento de sus hospederos intermediarios para facilitar la transmisi\u00f3n final, tal como lo hace el nematodo Synhimantus (Dispharynx) nasuta, el cual utiliza a las \u201ccochinillas de la humedad de tierra\u201d (is\u00f3podo terrestre).<\/p><p align=\"JUSTIFY\">El comportamiento normal de este artr\u00f3podo es mantenerse en zonas oscuras; sin embargo, este par\u00e1sito hace que la cochinilla de tierra se vuelva muy activa y con tendencia a visitar zonas iluminadas, logrando as\u00ed que el hospedero final de dicho par\u00e1sito (gallin\u00e1ceas, rapaces y palomas) pueda capturarlo con mayor facilidad (Carre\u00f1o 2008).<\/p><p align=\"JUSTIFY\">El nematodo S.
