selectiva, apareciendo solo en el ciego de las gallin\u00e1ceas.<\/p><p>Foto: Los machos son m\u00e1s peque\u00f1os y m\u00e1s cortos, midiendo 9 mm de longitud, con una cola doblada \u00fanica, marcada con c\u00edrculo rojo.<\/p><p>Las hembras son m\u00e1s gruesas y m\u00e1s largas, midiendo aproximadamente 13 mm de largo, con una\u00a0cola recta.<\/p><p>La heterakis cecal de las aves es producida por unas lombrices de tama\u00f1o reducid\u00edsimo. <em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Heterakis gallinarum<\/span><\/em>.<\/p><p>Estos vermes tienen el cuerpo sinuoso y flexuoso y su tama\u00f1o es muy reducido. Se localizan en el interior del contenido de los ciegos.<\/p><p>El \u00e1scari cecal aumenta en las estaciones secas. Los huevos sometidos a temperaturas entre 28 \u00b0C y 35 \u00b0C alcanzan la fase infectante en seis d\u00edas.<\/p><p>El ciclo es similar al de los \u00e1scaris, aunque la evoluci\u00f3n es m\u00e1s r\u00e1pida que en aquellas, pues una vez liberada la larva en el intestino, alcanza r\u00e1pidamente el fondo del ciego, en donde, tras doce d\u00edas de fase larvaria, pasa a adulto y es capaz de poner huevos.<\/p><p>La presencia de Heterakis pasa la mayor parte de las veces desapercibida, siendo un proceso patol\u00f3gico por presencia y depredaci\u00f3n.
