Una de dichas infecciones parasitarias es la tricomoniasis.<\/p><p>La tricomoniasis, tambi\u00e9n llamada cancro o llagas, es una infecci\u00f3n causada por el Trichomonas gallinae, un protozoario (o microbio unicelular). Por lo general, afecta a las aves salvajes y se ve ocasionalmente en aves dom\u00e9sticas.<\/p><h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u00bfQu\u00e9 es esto?<\/span><\/h3><p>La tricomoniasis es una enfermedad parasitaria causada por el protozoario de flagelaci\u00f3n <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><i>Trichomonas gallinae<\/i><\/span> que afecta principalmente a las aves Columbiformes y rapaces, siendo ocasional en galliformes, paseriformes y psitaciformes (Grave, 1996).<\/p><ul><li>Las palomas (Columba livia).<\/li><li>T\u00f3rtolas europeas (Streptopelia turtur).<\/li><li>y otras especies de la familia Columbidae.<\/li><\/ul><p>Son los principales hu\u00e9spedes de <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Trichomonas gallinae<\/em><\/span>; casi todas las palomas son portadoras, aunque a veces aparecen peque\u00f1os brotes de la enfermedad. Su gravedad es mayor en las aves j\u00f3venes (las afecta m\u00e1s f\u00e1cil y agresivamente), y las aves adultas pueden ser portadoras del problema, sintom\u00e1ticas o no (portadoras e inaparentes, es decir, tienen los protozoos, pero no tienen s\u00edntomas de la enfermedad).<\/p><p>La tricomoniasis en las palomas es transmitida por el ave adulta a sus cr\u00edas en el momento de la alimentaci\u00f3n (regurgitaci\u00f3n), contaminando a las cr\u00edas minutos despu\u00e9s del nacimiento. La infecci\u00f3n por T. gallinae puede ser asintom\u00e1tica o sintom\u00e1tica, y puede progresar a casos fatales entre 4 y 18 horas despu\u00e9s de la infecci\u00f3n.<\/p><p>La tricomoniasis se considera la principal causa de muerte entre las palomas reci\u00e9n nacidas. Los halcones y otras aves silvestres pueden infectarse despu\u00e9s de alimentarse de un ave infectada.<\/p><p>En nuestros gallineros, las gallinas, pollos, pavos se infectan con el par\u00e1sito protozoario a trav\u00e9s del agua contaminada por las aves silvestres y el pienso o grano, despu\u00e9s del contacto con bebederos y comederos.<\/p><p>Los trofozo\u00edtos de <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Trichomonas<\/em><\/span><em>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000;\">gallinae<\/span><\/em> pueden permanecer vivos durante varias horas en el agua y durante 5 d\u00edas en los granos y son capaces de infectar a otras aves que se alimentan en estos comederos (Borges, #0000ff;\">Ciclo:<\/span><\/h3><p>El curso de la enfermedad es r\u00e1pido. Las primeras lesiones aparecen como peque\u00f1as \u00e1reas amarillentas en la mucosa oral. Aumentan de tama\u00f1o r\u00e1pidamente y se fusionan para formar masas que terminan bloqueando el es\u00f3fago, y pueden impedir que el ave cierre su pico. El l\u00edquido puede acumularse en el pico.<\/p><p>Se produce una secreci\u00f3n acuosa del ojo y, en las \u00faltimas etapas, un exudado alrededor de los ojos puede provocar ceguera. Las aves pierden peso r\u00e1pidamente y se vuelven d\u00e9biles y ap\u00e1ticas. La muerte ocurre al cabo de 8 a 10 d\u00edas. En las infecciones cr\u00f3nicas, las aves parecen estar sanas, aunque los par\u00e1sitos generalmente se pueden demostrar en aquellas que se raspan las membranas mucosas de la garganta (Fraser et al., 1996).<\/p><p>Adem\u00e1s, el ave puede estar llena de focos necr\u00f3ticos caseros. El pico y el es\u00f3fago contienen material necr\u00f3tico que puede extenderse hasta el interior del cr\u00e1neo y a veces a trav\u00e9s de los tejidos circundantes del cuello para envolver la piel. En el es\u00f3fago y en el buche, las lesiones pueden ser amarillas, redondeadas y elevadas, con un espol\u00f3n casta\u00f1o conocido como \u201cbotones amarillos\u201d.<\/p><p>El cultivo puede estar cubierto por una membrana dift\u00e9rica amarillenta que puede extenderse hasta el est\u00f3mago glandular. Sin embargo, no afectan a la molleja ni al intestino. El da\u00f1o a los \u00f3rganos internos es m\u00e1s com\u00fan en el h\u00edgado. son muy dif\u00edciles de desprender.<\/p><p>El truco para diferenciar ambos es usar un bastoncillo de algod\u00f3n y siempre con guantes; quitamos un poco de la placa amarillenta, si sangrar demasiado es diftero-viruela; si sangra poco, es tricomoniasis.<\/p><p>Micosis &#8211; Hongos &#8211; Candidiasis: Dan como manchas amarillas a los costados de la fosa o abertura palatina encima del paladar; no son caseosos.<\/p><h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u00bfC\u00f3mo prevenir la tricomoniasis?<\/span><\/h3><p>Lo principal que debemos hacer en nuestros gallineros si vemos que tenemos aves infestadas de tricomoniasis es lavar los utensilios que reciben alimentos (comederos, cubos de la dieta, cesta de recogida de huevos, etc.) y en el agua (bebederos y ba\u00f1eras, principalmente) con frecuencia y de manera sostenible, previniendo la propagaci\u00f3n de la enfermedad.<\/p><p>Mantenga el\u00a0gallinero limpio en todo momento y limpie\u00a0aseladeros, placas, paredes, puertas, ventanas, etc., con frecuencia.<\/p><p>Evite la entrada de aves silvestres en los gallineros; esto es muy importante.<\/p><p>Viendo que est\u00e1n enfermas nuestras aves, el mejor procedimiento es buscar la ayuda de un veterinario para un diagn\u00f3stico y tratamiento apropiados.<\/p><h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">C\u00f3mo tratar la tricomoniasis:<\/span><\/h3><p>Los medicamentos contra tricomonas son drogas derivadas de los nitroimidazoles Tienen actividad contra tricomonas, amebas, giardias, histomonas y bacterias.<\/p><p>Metronidazol: Es un compuesto heteroc\u00edclico con una estructura qu\u00edmica similar a la de los nitrofuranos. Se utiliza com\u00fanmente bajo el nombre comercial de Flagyl.
