Se transmite de forma directa por contacto con otro animal ya enfermo y de forma indirecta a trav\u00e9s del aire por la cercan\u00eda de uno de ellos.<\/p><p><span style=\"background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);\">Con el tiempo, estas costras aumentan de tama\u00f1o y n\u00famero, formando costras redondas de color blanco ceniciento. <\/span>Al evolucionar, el hongo puede llegar a expandirse por el cuello y el cuerpo, atacando la base de las plumas y provocando su rotura y ca\u00edda.<\/p><p>La ti\u00f1a es contagiosa; por lo tanto, es conveniente el aislamiento del animal infectado y proceder a la desinfecci\u00f3n de las instalaciones. Cabe destacar que el hongo de la ti\u00f1a encuentra un reservorio id\u00f3neo en gallineros oscuros y recargados, adem\u00e1s de h\u00famedos.<\/p><p><span style=\"color: #0000ff; font-family: inherit; font-size: 24px; font-weight: bold;\">Etiolog\u00eda:<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"cc-m-5789513811\" class=\"j-module n j-text \"><p>Esta enfermedad la produce un hongo pat\u00f3geno del g\u00e9nero Trichophyton, el Trichophyton gallinae. Este hongo dermatofito zoof\u00edlico infecta a las gallinas y rara vez al hombre.<\/p><p>El <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Trichophyton gallinae<\/em><\/span>\u00a0crece bastante bien en los medios comunes para hongos (Sabouraud, Czapek) enriquecidos con tiamina, produciendo macroconidias abundantes. La colonia es brillosa, blanca, con un pigmento rojo llamativo.<\/p><\/div><div id=\"cc-m-5789976711\" class=\"j-module n j-text \"><h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h3><h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Especies susceptibles:<\/span><\/h3><p>Se consideran susceptibles a la ti\u00f1a todas las especies de mam\u00edferos, aves e incluso reptiles.<\/p><p>Esta enfermedad afecta fundamentalmente a la gallina dom\u00e9stica (Gallus domesticus) y sobre todo a aquellas razas de gallinas de cresta grande.<\/p><p>Los pavos (<span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Meleagris gallopavo<\/em><\/span>) pueden contaminarse tambi\u00e9n y padecer la enfermedad en las zonas implumes de la cabeza.<\/p><p>La ti\u00f1a es m\u00e1s frecuente en meses de fr\u00edo, de poca humedad y escasa precipitaci\u00f3n pluvial. El hongo puede establecerse tambi\u00e9n con la evoluci\u00f3n de la enfermedad en las partes plumosas, encontr\u00e1ndonos que las plumas comienzan a caer y alrededor del ca\u00f1\u00f3n de la pluma nos encontramos costras escamosas y engrosamiento de la piel.<\/p><p>La enfermedad puede acompa\u00f1arse de s\u00edntomas generales como son depresi\u00f3n, debilidad, adelgazamiento, anemia, etc.<\/p><p>La evoluci\u00f3n va en ocasiones camino a la cronicidad, aunque hay animales donde se ha observado la cura espont\u00e1nea.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: center;\">La letalidad es baja cuando se mantienen las medidas de higiene.<\/p><p>La parte de la piel afectada por la micosis se encuentra engrosada y cubierta por costras; adem\u00e1s de las lesiones externas, en algunas aves se encuentran los focos necr\u00f3ticos, n\u00f3dulos y dep\u00f3sitos caseosos amarillentos sobre la mucosa de las v\u00edas respiratorias altas o del conducto digestivo.<\/p><p>En la histopatolog\u00eda se observa necrosis caseosa en el buche o intestino delgado; en dichas lesiones se observa tambi\u00e9n la piel son muy sugestivas para concluir nuestro diagn\u00f3stico.<\/p><p>En caso de dudas o investigaciones m\u00e1s amplias, se recurre al diagn\u00f3stico del laboratorio, donde en cultivo o en examen microsc\u00f3pico directo, se pone de manifiesto el agente causal.<\/p><p>Asimismo, el diagn\u00f3stico biol\u00f3gico y los datos epizootiol\u00f3gicos obtenidos complementan la investigaci\u00f3n.<\/p><p>Como terap\u00e9utico se pueden utilizar soluciones de yodo, jab\u00f3n verde y otras, aunque este tratamiento es individual y no se aconseja en las cr\u00edas intensivas modernas.<\/p><h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">El tratamiento a seguir:<\/span><\/h3><p>En primer lugar, aplicar un desinfectante, utilizar yodo, sobre todo para afecciones en la zona de la cresta, al no ser irritante, y porque tratamos una afecci\u00f3n por hongos.<\/p><p>El yodo lo podemos aplicar mientras cepillamos la zona con un cepillo de dientes (suave), para intentar exfoliar algo la zona afectada. Deberemos utilizar guantes desechables y asegurarnos de que el cepillo est\u00e1 siempre h\u00famedo para evitar descamaciones que pudieran ser fuentes de infecci\u00f3n futura.<\/p><p>Una vez limpia y desinfectada la zona, procedemos a secarla y limpiarla con una gasa est\u00e9ril, y en este paso podr\u00edamos aplicar alguna crema antimic\u00f3tica, como las que contienen miconazol, clotrimazol o ingredientes similares.<\/p><p>Este tratamiento lo repetiremos durante varios d\u00edas, incluido el cepillado. Si por desgracia la infecci\u00f3n se ha propagado hacia zona profunda de la piel hasta el fol\u00edculo piloso, es posible que se necesiten medicamentos antimic\u00f3ticos t\u00f3picos m\u00e1s fuertes, como el ketoconazol o similares.
