durante los per\u00edodos de inicio de la puesta, y se caracteriza por la eversi\u00f3n accidental e irreversible del oviducto a trav\u00e9s de la cloaca.<\/p><p>Este trastorno generalmente surge como consecuencia directa del esfuerzo realizado por la gallina durante la puesta. Es com\u00fan que se presente despu\u00e9s de la expulsi\u00f3n del huevo. En las gallinas, se puede observar f\u00e1cilmente <span style=\"color: #000000;\">la protrusi\u00f3n del \u00f3rgano<\/span> hacia el exterior.<\/p><p>En sus primeras etapas, la condici\u00f3n est\u00e1 acompa\u00f1ada de un aspecto muy congestionado; sin embargo, si no se toma ninguna medida correctiva en los d\u00edas siguientes, puede surgir una situaci\u00f3n de picoteo, lo que provoca la necrosis del \u00f3rgano.<\/p><p>El oviducto se congestiona considerablemente y, en uni\u00f3n con la cloaca, se expulsa hacia el exterior a trav\u00e9s del ano. Si no se act\u00faa con diligencia, esto puede desencadenar un brote de canibalismo entre las aves, ya que los individuos picotean la masa evertida hasta causar la muerte de la gallina.<\/p><p>Asimismo, es posible que el picoteo de otras gallinas sea un factor determinante para la aparici\u00f3n del prolapso. Las aves que han recibido picaduras en la regi\u00f3n anal pueden, debido a la inflamaci\u00f3n y a la irritaci\u00f3n, forzar para expulsar el material irritante, lo que puede inducir a que la cloaca se presente en un caso de prolapso.<\/p><p>Stafseth, Thompson y Grey (1932) de Michigan se\u00f1alaron en su momento que el prolapso es un indicativo de cierta patolog\u00eda intestinal y, con menor frecuencia, del oviducto. La afecci\u00f3n se da principalmente en las gallinas durante su primer a\u00f1o de producci\u00f3n de huevos.<\/p><p>Otros investigadores sostienen que el prolapso del recto, del oviducto y la protrusi\u00f3n de la cloaca suelen estar interrelacionados, se\u00f1alando como causa la inflamaci\u00f3n intestinal <span style=\"color: #000000;\">provocada por par\u00e1sitos y coccidios.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p><p>Los cuales desempe\u00f1an un papel significativo, y a\u00f1aden que la menor ocurrencia de prolapsos en aves adultas podr\u00eda estar vinculada a una inmunidad adquirida m\u00e1s que a una simple resistencia f\u00edsica asociada a la edad.<\/p><p>Brumester (1948) observ\u00f3 que algunos individuos tienen una predisposici\u00f3n a sufrir el prolapso, ya sea por una <span style=\"color: #000000;\">insuficiencia de estr\u00f3genos <\/span>(hormona sexual que interviene en la aparici\u00f3n de los caracteres sexuales secundarios femeninos) como por una producci\u00f3n <span style=\"color: #000000;\">excesiva de andr\u00f3genos<\/span>. El tratamiento del prolapso presenta m\u00faltiples desaf\u00edos. En cualquier situaci\u00f3n, se deben separar las aves afectadas e intentar la reintegraci\u00f3n manual del \u00f3rgano. El tejido que ha prolapsado debe lavarse con cuidado utilizando agua tibia y reposicionarse con suavidad en su ubicaci\u00f3n habitual.<\/p><p>Es crucial que el ave se mantenga aislada y en un estado de reposo absoluto durante varios d\u00edas.
