Rudolf Kramer (1843 or 1844; † 24 November 1904 in Leipzig) he was a writer, journalist, and expert in German poultry. Your pocket book on poultry-breeding of pedigree it became a standard work in the breeding of poultry.

Su vida:

Kramer worked as an editor of articles on breeding of poultry, was editor-in-chief of " Allgemeine Deutsche Geflügel Zeitung and he has published articles in numerous journals of his time, including the magazine of ornithology and breeding practice of poultry. His articles included reports of fairs of poultry throughout the country.

In 1899 he published the book-of-pocket on Poultry-breeding of pedigreewith a foreword by Hugo du Roi. Du Roi praised Kramer as one of the first connoisseurs of poultry.

La segunda edición revisada apareció en 1908; la tercera, revisada de nuevo y con un prólogo de Emil Schachtschabel, bajo el título Kramer’s Pocket Book of Rasse Geflügel Zucht, 1926. 

It was reprinted in 1999 as “Der Kramer”; el libro se convirtió en un trabajo estándar en la avicultura. A diferencia de otras obras, la primera edición del libro contenía no solo descripciones, sino también ilustraciones en color realizadas por varios artistas.

Se considera el primer estándar de cría de la cría de aves de corral de pedigrí alemán y también fue recibido internacionalmente en círculos especializados.

Kramer has actively participated in several associations of poultry-breeding, for which he worked from 1884 until 1893 as president of the association of poultry-breeding of Leipzig, and was an honorary member of the association of breeders of breeds of chickens in French. 

He also served as a judge of waterfowl and chickens. In 1983, the bag of poultry he was rated as one of “the great men of the poultry-breeding of pedigree German of the previous century”.

Kramer died in Leipzig in 1904 as a result of a disease. Already in 1905, the Award Rudolf Kramer was donated in his memory. In 2016, the Association of Breeders of Poultry of Saxony took a commemorative medal dedicated to Rudolf Kramer.
