Current situation:
The Black Castilian figure within the Official Catalogue of Livestock Breeds of Spain as a race of bird in danger of extinction, within the Royal Decree 2129/2008, establishing the national Programme for the conservation, improvement and promotion of livestock breeds (Order ARM/574/2010, March 4, amending annex I of Royal Decree 2129/2008).
El Ministerio de Agricultura, Pesca y Alimentación, propuesto por Ganeca, ha aprobado la reglamentación específica del Libro Genealógico de la raza gallina castellana negra y el Programa de Conservación de la Gallina Castellana, de conformidad con lo dispuesto en el real decreto (2129/2008, de 26 de diciembre).
